You can’t live a day with no prepaid load balance in our cellular. [Because and text, users can easily control their load balance or load budget for a week. Prepaid cellular are preferred over post paid plans for vast variety of reasons, most important being no requirement of contract and ability to control the budget .

Even Overseas Workers working abroad has prepaid mobile phone service subscriptions. It does’nt matter what company they subscribed, truth is – their mobile phones must maintain load balance for calls and messages to relatives and other buddies in the Philippines. It’s not easy for anyone unable to contact his relatives or family in the Philippines if he doesn’t have prepaid roaming services since other services available abroad for calling home are so expensive.

I use a service such as www.smartload.us to load my prepaid account when I’m traveling. When available, I also use the local outlets that support my cellular service, but sometimes they tend to be more costly.

Lost Or Stolen US Passport – Travel With Ease By Retrieving It Feb 08

When you lose your passport, or if it is stolen from you, you need to act quickly. Also, you need to know what you have to do next. There are crucial steps you need to take, especially considering that your Lost Passport contains your personal information. And you should know that identity thieves thrive on stealing other people’s personal information. So let us show you what to do, and how to do it quickly.

To report a Lost or stolen passport, you can either call the US Department of State or send them the appropriate form for reporting Lost passports. Calling their office provides you with the convenience and speed of reporting your loss. However, there are times when placing a phone call isn’t possible, especially during federal holidays. In times like these, you’ll need to send a report by mail.

To send a report of a Lost passport by mail, you will have to fill in Form DS-64. This form will contain your statement regarding the loss of your passport. And as such, you will have to make sure you have covered everything about your report, as well as the important details that will shed more light into your loss.

Once you are done filling in the DS-64, you will have to submit it. You have the option of sending it through the mail or submitting it in person. A personal appearance is required should you decide to submit this form along with your application for a new passport.

The DS-11 is the form you’ll use to apply for a new passport. This form requires you to submit it in person. Today, you no longer need to go to the nearest passport office to get this form. Instead, simply download it from the US Department of State’s website. From there, you can fill in the form on your computer or you can print it out first before filling it in by hand.

Your Stolen Passport is invalidated once you report you have Lost it or it was stolen from you. The Department of State does this in order to prevent cases of identity theft. Once again, your passport contains your full name, birth date, address, and other relevant information that criminals could use to perpetrate a crime. Also, keep in mind that once your passport is invalidated, you could no longer request its revalidation. Thus, you will have to apply for a new passport.

In case your passport is stolen in a foreign country, the need to act quickly becomes more and more important. That is why you need to report that loss as soon as possible to the US Consulate or Embassy nearest you. They will then assist you on getting a replacement passport.

To sum up, you need to act quickly if your Lost U.S. Passport is Lost or stolen. This is important especially for security reasons, as identity thieves may prey on you, or sell your sensitive personal information. Don’t lose time. Report your passport immediately.

Applying For A US Passport Is A Simple Task Feb 08

Passport applicants who are 16-17 years old are still considered minors. Because of this, they need to submit special requirements on top of the regular documents needed to apply for a US passport. Now if you fall under this category, find out how to apply for a pass port in this article. Don’t worry, because we’ll keep it as clear, simple, yet detailed as possible.

First, let’s tackle the special requirements. These requirements actually have more to do with the parents or guardians rather than the applicant himself/herself. For one, the parents should provide their own photo identification if the applicant doesn’t have one. Aside from that, the parent or guardian should also present a photocopy of this identification during the application. Then, finally, a written parental consent is required should it not be implied in the application. Again, remember that you need to accomplish these requirements along with the regular ones.

Basically, those are just the special requirements that you need to submit. Now on to the regular application requirements. If you are a first-time passport applicant, you will be required to fill in the DS-11 form. This is a standard form that is completed by anyone who’s applying for a new passport. This includes those who were issued their U.S.  passport application when they were under 16, or those who got their last passport more than 15 years ago.

Applicants filling the DS-11 are required to submit this document along with the other requirements in person. You should take note that even if you have already completed this form, you must not sign it yet. You should wait for the instruction to do so once you are already at the passport office.

You also need to establish your citizenship when applying for a passport. You can submit any of the following documents to do this: a certified birth certificate, your latest passport, your certificate of naturalization, your certificate of citizenship, or a consular report if you were born outside the US. The document you submit will be returned to you once your passport has been processed. It is usually mailed with your passport, although sometimes it may be mailed separately.

Aside from your citizenship, you will also need to establish your identity. Here’s how to do it. First, create a photocopy of your ID and submit it to the passport office along with the requirements. You must also bring the original ID with you when you finally submit all your passport application requirements. Take note that there are very specific guidelines to having your ID photocopied, from the paper used to what should be on the paper, so make sure you follow them to the letter.

Two passport photos are also needed for your application. Make sure they are color photos, and that they follow all the specifications set by the passport office. Once you have all these requirements ready, you will be asked to pay the applicable fee for your application.

There you have it, all the basic things you need to know about how to apply for a pass port if you’re 16-17 years old. These guidelines are up to date and very specific, so make sure you understand them and follow them to the letter. You’ll save yourself time if you have everything ready before submitting the application.

Bandelier State Monument & Coronado State Monument in Santa Fe Feb 08

Make sure you pack your hiking gear and especially good walking boots if you head to Santa Fe, New Mexico – there are several spectacular spots for getting outdoors and enjoying the beautiful scenery here, two in particular are Bandelier and the other is the Coronado State Monument.  Both are good reasons to move to Santa Fe and provide deceptively easy looking terrain but the visitor is at real risk here both from the terrain and the extremely hot conditions which also make hydration a life saving necessity.  In addition there are several others we will touch on but the watchword for your visit is “safety” – make sure you have the right gear and follow proper safety procedures!

Coronado State Monument

Coronado State Monument is in the Jemez Mountains which were formed around one million years ago by a series of volcanic eruptions which have been eroded into a mountain desert landscape. The land is hard and quiet and in fact, the solitude here is something to be really enjoyed when you visit with the city a far cry distant and don’t expect to find the place full of supervising staff and park rangers – they are on hand to help you but the emphasis is on permitting people to quietly enjoy the area.

Though the land may appear peaceful it conceals an extraordinarily violent past.  The Tiwa natives settled the area around the 14th century and built intricate and long lasting pueblos and for the most part survived with hunting and rudimentary agriculture which was limited given the local climate  and conditions.  In 1540 the Spaniards arrived and proceeded to put the locals to the sword after making a very careful and premeditated reconnaissance of this isolated example of communal living.

Though the Tiwa are now long gone you can enjoy the Tiwa Trail which is a quarter mile loop taking in the kiva burial grounds and the reconstructions of the ruins before you slip off the beaten track to enjoy the Rio Grande area.

Bandelier National Monument

North of Coronado is Bandelier National Monument and again the terrain offered appears to be easy and risk free on first sight – do not let appearances deceive you!

The major attraction for Bandelier is the Frijoles Canyon through which you can wander and explore in peace and solitude. There is not a great deal of supervision of the area's visitors, which allows you to enjoy the monument but also requires you to exercise responsibility during your trip.
Wandering along the rock passages and carved stairways you can take your courage in hand and climb the wooden ladders bolted onto the rock face; the reward is spectacular views of the surrounding landscape as well as gaining an insight into how the native peoples who inhabited the area actually lived – cavates are the hand carved dwellings hewn out of the rock and which populate the mountain side but be aware – there are no safety nets and the climbs can be dangerous and arduous.

In both instances, you can use Santa Fe as your base for exploring these and the several other monuments and attractions (we haven’t mentioned the Petroglyph Monument here but you should be aware of it too). There are hotels and lodgings available throughout the area which will suit tastes and budgets as well as all the convenience and diversions you would expect from a major city but many visitors come here to find peace and quiet which the area provides in abundance allowing you to be as social or solitary as you wish to be whenever you choose. And you just might find that you love it here so much you’ll be looking for a moving company to help you relocate permanently.

Enjoy New Orleans Feb 08

New Orleans is a fusion of so many influences that it is impossible to say where one influence starts and another one ends – cultures and creeds have become so intertwined they are not readily distinguishable and the very best of every world is there to try, delight in and to enjoy. Not only is it a great place to visit, but you might consider moving to New Orleans.

The Mississippi River forms a crescent cut out of the high ground within which is found Vieux Carre – the French Quarter or to locals, known simply as the Quarter.Residents in the Big Easy know how to live and take it easy with the important things in life – partying is not an event so much as a way of life!  While there are other interesting districts to go explore, the French Quarter is the heart of New Orleans and the rest of the city dances to the beat of this thriving, eclectic and energetic morass of people and the constant stream of events and happenings.

It is easy to fall under the spell of the Quarter and you will find yourself in good company with notable writers and artists such as Mark Twain and John James Audubon finding themselves ensnared. It is hard to say what makes the French Quarter so alluring - to say the District is a vibrant fusion is an understatement.

Wherever you look and whatever you sample, eclectism is found everywhere – simply look at the buildings and you will find Spanish tiled buildings with French style facades and porticos replete with private courtyards offering cool places to party - cool as in temperature but also as in very cool stylishly. The District breeds an ambience and spirit all of its own and it is the people who have created this – take away the people and the Quarter would perish.

Music forms a major part of life in New Orleans and the Quarter with outstanding musicians living here as well as throughout more distant time – New Orleans most famous musical son, Louis Armstrong was immensely influenced by the city and especially the jazz played everywhere but particularly the French Quarter.  New Orleans may be known as the birthplace of jazz but it is not the only music in town – blues, Creole, Cajun, with independent and artistic interpretation and themes abounding and all feeding off each other leading to further development of musical forms.

Food is another area where the Quarter and New Orleans shines through with Spanish, Creole, French, Cajun and as many other different styles of cuisine as you can count making providing ample reason for expanding waistlines. It is very usual to find restaurants offering a fusion or independent interpretation of culinary creativity competing for patrons side-by-side – it is not simply the style of food but taste preferences as well with full menus for carnivores, vegetarians, seafood fans and Vegans.

If you’re a mover and a shaker, the French Quarter is also where the world famous Mardi Gras Carnival takes place but it is not simply the March 3rd party and frolics which actually dominates, it is the plethora of organizations and semi-social gatherings which take place throughout the year as “Krewes” compete with each other to arrange the best marching interpretation on the theme chosen by Rex – the King of the Carnival.  Partying is an important social activity here in the Quarter and you can spend any number of evenings drifting from one courtyard to another and enjoying the huge number of social gatherings and parties taking place until you find what you are looking for.

America’s Greatest Party – Mardi Gras, New Orleans Feb 08

Mardi Gras or Fat Tuesday came from Paris, France where it has been celebrated since the Middle Ages but here in America we had to wait until 1699.  In that year, the French explorer Iberville reconnoitered the Mississippi River down to the Gulf of Mexico and ended up at a point some 60 miles south of current day New Orleans on March 3rd – true to French form they christened the spot Point du Mardi Gras.

Mardi Gras predates the French and has its origins in pagan tradition and festivals from before ancient Roman times.  With Christianity on the rise and increasingly being adopted, the leaders of the church recognized that the best way of increasing adoption of the new religion was to take the old pagan dates and incorporate them in the Christian calendar.  Mardi Gras was incorporated as the last big blowout before Lent and its period of abstinence for forty days and nights.

In the late 18th Century, pre-Lent balls and festivals were increasingly held in New Orleans when under the rule of the French but with the Spanish taking over they increasingly tried to put an end to the holiday and this continued under American governorship when New Orleans was taken over in 1803.It did not take long for the American governor to be persuaded by the local Creoles to allow the festival to be re-introduced and in 1823 Mardi Gras was being celebrated with parties and merriment once more in the city.

In 1827 the street masks used by so many revelers were actually legalized and by the early 19th Century, Mardi Gras was developing into the carnival we know today with maskers on foot and elaborately decorated horse drawn carriages.Mardi Gras had a violent reputation and was close to being banned on numerous occasions until a small group of former "Cowbellians" interceded (Cowbellians were the group representing the New Year’s Eve parade in Mobile, Alabama at that time).  The result was the Comus organization in 1857 which saved the Mardi Gras party and coined the term “krewe” as well as instituting several Mardi Gras traditions including the secret Carnival society, a theme for the parade and holding the tableau ball.

Grand Duke Alexis Romanoff of Russia visited in 1872 and provided the inspiration for the first appearance of Rex – the King of the Carnival.  Rex immediately became instantly synonymous with Mardi Gras and presented the first parade held during the day as well as choosing the Carnival’s color scheme of purple, gold and green along with a flag and Mardi Gras anthem as well as having a retinue in the form of the Knights of Momus.

Some notable krewes include Proteus who debuted in 1882 when the Carnival paid homage to Egyptian mythology; the Jefferson City Buzzards are the granddaddy of all marching teams and were formed in 1890 while the first black marching krewe, The Original Illinios Club appeared in 1894 and Les Mysterieuses were also founded as the first women marching krewe.More recently, the Zulu krewe appeared, and are an all black organization formed in 1916 and who have become one of the most popular aspects of the carnival but though the 20th Century created difficulties with war and the Depression numerous other krewes followed including the Elks, the Krewes of Hermes and Babylon while the Krewe of Venus arranged the very first women’s parade in 1941.

More recently, numerous other krewes have been formed which reflect our changing society but just as many older krewes passed from the rolls and ceased to exist; the party and show must go on.
